In this training article we’re going to find out how to turn the SCR System/ AdBlue Off for Renault Truck Premium And Renault Truck MAGNUM with TRW EMS 2.2 ECU. Our project here is RENAULT Truck Premium 11000 Dxi 11 with 460HP. Let's take a look at the interior features of this Renault Premium truck with 460 horsepower. As you may already know, it has a Volvo engine and a Volvo gearbox as well. The Renault Premium is a heavy-duty truck that was produced by the Renault Trucks which is also part of Renault and Volvo. When the Premium was revealed, it was available with either a 9.8L or 11.1L, 6 cylinder Diesel engine. But then Euro 4 engines were sourced from parent Volvo Truck's company.

💬What is The Purpose of Volvo AdBlue Removal?
There are many problems with these truck AdBlue and DPF systems models, and these systems are very expensive for the owners of these vehicles. This is why many owners prefer to Volvo AdBlue removal systems with an ECU tune.

💬How to “Read and Write” TRW ECU?
First of all, we should Read the TRW EMS 2.2 ECU. We used KTAG master for the “Read and Write” process of this ECU. As you can see, we select Renault truck, premium Euro 5 DX11 and then we select service mode.
In the service mode we can Read the ECU from its pinout (Bench mode).
- We need cable 144300T115 in order to connect to the ECU and 144300TALI as battery supply power cable.
- This is the cable you need to “Read and Write” TRW EMS ECU.
- Disconnect the ECU connector and connect the cable 144300T115 to the ECU.

You can even disconnect the ECU from the Truck and Read the ECU on the workbench. When you connect the KTAG to the ECU, you should identify the ECU.
After a few seconds, KTAG can recognize the ECU and you can easily read the ECU by “Read backup” button. When the ECU identification is finished, you can see the ECU’s hardware and software versions.
For instance, this ECUs HW is 20995620P04 and SW is 22989500P01. It is recommended to back up the original file so that anything happened during the “Reading and Writing” process you have the original file.
In order to back up the original file, click on “Read backup” button. Now if any problem occurs during the process, we have the full backup file and we can make the ECU alive.

After the Reading is finished, you have to save the Read file on your PC. The next step to turn the AdBlue off is, using the WinOLS software to make some changes.

After applying the changes, in order to Write the ECU, first of all, you should identify the ECU and then write the ECU using the “Write” function. If you use the “Write backup” button, KTAG will restore the ECU original file back to the ECU.
🚨Note: The KTAG can correct the checksum for this ECU during the Writing process so you don’t need to worry about checksum correction.

After these processes, you can install the ECU on the truck and use a scanner to DTC OFF.
